The inspiration behind Sesto Sorelline online boutique is that of my sister and I, Maria Sesto and Rosetta Sesto. Having travelled to the small town in Calabria, Platania from where our parents and grandparents migrated from. We wanted to bring back in vogue the keepsakes of the days gone by.
We wanted to source keepsakes that evoked the memory of the carefree times when the foundation of family was the centre for food, and continuing the traditions of our family before us; gardening, sitting at the table for hours on end, playing cards, making salami and wine in the winter and our own sauce in the summer, baking sweet treats for Easter and Christmas.
Maira and I couldn’t help but wonder if the sense of family, faith and tradition still flickered inside others as now we raise our owns families.
